My business team and I look forward to staying here every year when we roll into town for a trade show. Fabulous location, welp appointed rooms with gorgeous views, an exceptionally well-trained and gracious staff (special thanks to Simona this year!), and the wonderful Palm restaurant and bar, make it a great experience all around.

I was traveling to a conference for a few days and stayed at the Swissotel. I was comfortable, easy to access downtown, the food and bar are excellent. Highly recommend.

See above - i was disappointed and no soap in shower all my whole stay. My cleaning lady came into my room twice in the 3 days while I was there and working. Once was on my checkout day before I had checked out. I have never experienced this before. This was more a Red Roof than Swissotel experience.

After a long day of travel, I arrived to a warm welcome from a lovely guest service agent, and check-in went smoothly. My room had a beautiful river view, which was a great first impression. Unfortunately, the room itself did not meet expectations. When I inspected the room, I was glad there were two beds because one appeared to have clean, crisp linens, while the other clearly had makeup from a prior guest still visible on the sheets. Since the hotel was sold out, I chose to sleep in the other bed and left a note for housekeeping the next morning, along with a thank-you note and cash tip, asking that the soiled linens be replaced. I also requested washcloths because none were provided in the bathroom. The requests were handled, but I was surprised there was no acknowledgment or apology for the oversight. The next morning, I again left a thank-you note and cash tip, along with a note that the wall-mounted conditioner bottle in the shower was empty and requested that it to be refilled. When I returned that evening, I was shocked to find that the shampoo and body wash bottles had been removed, even though they still had product in them, and only a new conditioner bottle had been added. It was confusing and disappointing, especially given the otherwise pleasant check-in experience and the beautiful view. That said, I do want to recognize Paul, one of the waiters supporting our conference, who provided exceptional care during my stay. Because of my food allergies, he personally spoke with the chef and made sure I had food that was safe for me to enjoy. His attentiveness, kindness, and follow-through were very much appreciated.

I will say the convenient location was obviously the reason for booking. If we exclude how much it cost to stay per night, it was a good experience, but when you factor in what it cost I would say I was disappointed. When entering the room the toilet had been used by the previous person and not cleaned. If the room was actually cleaned before we arrived I am unsure how you would miss pee and poop in the toilet. The other issue is needing to use a microwave. I was willing to pay to use a microwave but (I brought my parents along as they also had never been in Chicago) and I didn't want to wake them up as they had already fallen asleep. I cannot understand for a gym they have upstairs with a display kitchen and seating with a TV area, why I couldn't microwave up there, or charge me and then microwave my food in an outlet in the lobby. I just felt that as I didn't want to wake people up, it was odd that the only place I was allowed to microwave was in the bedroom. Seemed extremely odd with a pretend kitchen upstairs with working outlets where then also no other rooms would hear the microwave, or even the lobby, I didn't even care if I paid and microwaved in the cleaners closet, I just don't want to disturb sleeping people, but Swissotel DOES want that, which makes no sense at all, it sounds extremely legalistic. I understand, more upscale means more restrictions and micromanaging for the employees and then ultimately the guests but it just seemed so odd! I understood no continental breakfast ($15 daily bar voucher which was good for a coffee and muffin for a couple people) and I understand parking as it is in a landlocked area, I understand no microwave. But it felt wierd I guess knowing how much you pay per night, then paying the parking fee, then feeling I am a child in a daycare not able to heat up my lunch, just such an odd feeling. They do have a wonderful view of the downtown area, day 2 someone did bring more towels (not day 1 but maybe thats another policy, unsure), but I would have overlooked all of this if it wasn't a nickle and diming situation as I guess when you book nicer places, you kind of want to experience what it feels to feel a little more free and stress free. I write this in hopes that maybe someone who books has an even better experience so that they know their money they saved for 2 years to go on a trip with their family feels as special as possible and they have a desire to return. Chicago was great, the views were great, and I am thankful, but I do desire to not feel guilty.
