We had great times in the Swissotel The Bosphorus, great people (special mention to Alp at the conciergerie and Loretta for the 17th executive floor). Except the service in the bar of the lobby, everything else was incredible. Our rooms were very pleasant, comfortable.

Most of your staff was wonderful although with the language barriers it was hard to complete several tasks. I understand we are English speakers but your hotel presents itself as a place where all can go and feel welcome. While several staff members were amazing there were more than one that acted with impatience and frustration at us even though we tried to be polite and understanding some of your folks didnt try to understand or wait for us to use our translation devices which are free and on almost any phone. I dont quite get why you dont have your staff equipped with electronic translation devices such as phone apps as again, they are free and easy to access. We dealt with several situations of trying to translate while a staff member showed obvious frustration and impatience at US trying to get our point across. Not to mention most of your staff acts as if all your guests have infinite money and just swipe their cards at the drop of a hat. We are upper middle class in the US and I was excited to get to stay somewhere that was seen as "fancy" but if I had known how many noses would be turned up in my presence I would rather have stayed in a tent somewhere. Not to mention our towel warmer didnt work and at the point we found that out we felt so ashamed to talk to anyone we simply let it be, although that is on us for not "bucking" up and bringing it to your attention. I would like to note that your Concierge staff were absolutely wonderful and a breath of fresh air when talking to folks there, your reception desk guys were also very polite and easy to talk too.

The reason I marked 9 instead of 10 is that as we checked in, we were not not given any information about the Hotel, restaurant, and access to WiFi was clunky, I had to come down to ask help from guest services.

Overall the levels of service are excellent except by the swimming pool where they are almost non existent. Surely there should be some designated non-smoking areas by the pool, as we seemed to be the only ones without a cigarette? It’s also very noisy and our stay was interrupted most days by loud music from the gardens or other guests mobile devices play music.
